ATI Geologica was appointed by WSP to complete three Cone Penetration Tests to 100 ft or refusal near South Brooksville, FL to investigate the suitability of installing a groundwater well. The tests were performed using a track-mounted CPT rig anchored using helical anchors. An electronic piezocone collected data continuously until refusal in bedrock at approximately 65 feet below ground surface (ft bgs). The data was then processed and produced into a factual data report summarizing the results and including highlights, a comprehensive evaluation of the subsurface and typical engineering parameters including SPT-N value equivalents. Each sounding ran continuously without disturbance or interruption. The limestone bedrock was encountered at the expected depth. The CPT sounding locations were relatively closely spaced and had distinctly different profiles. CPT was useful in detecting the various changes in material in great detail and the client was pleased with the information provided.
