ATI Geologica Geotechnical Investigation using Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) at Avanti Way development site in Orlando, FL

ATI Geologica completed five (5) Cone Penetration Tests to depths ranging from 43.43 ft and 43.60 ft. The tests were performed using a track-mounted TMG CPT-223 rig anchored using two helical anchors. An electronic piezocone manufactured by Vertek was advanced at a rate of approximately 2 cm/s. Project scope and field context

The investigation included five cone penetration tests to a minimum depth of 40 ft to investigate the ground conditions. Seismic testing was conducted on the two most widely spaced soundings, CPT-01 and CPT-05. The CPTs were performed as per a site map provided by the client. This factual report summarizes the results of the cone penetration testing, including highlights and a more comprehensive evaluation of the results using GeoLogismiki CPeT-IT, a proprietary software written in collaboration with Dr. Peter K. Robertson. The CPeT-IT software has the advantage of being able to combine similar soil layers and produce a summary table of soil properties for these layers. Results and Highlights The five soundings exhibited similar cone resistance profiles. The upper 24 to 28 feet primarily consisted of loose to medium-dense sands and silty sands, as depicted on the Soil Behavior Type (SBT) chart. A zone of medium-dense to dense sands was encountered between approximately 21 and 26 feet bgs. Directly beneath the silty sands and sands, a consistent 3-foot-thick layer of soft to firm Clay was identified, with SPT N-value equivalents ranging from 4 to 8 blows per foot. Underlying this clay horizon, the subsurface transitioned into a mix of clays andsilty clays, with increasing coarse-grained material, depicted predominantly as silty sands from approximately 38 to 40 feet bgs to the termination depths.
